Once on the lower level, graduates should register with their respective college/school. Each student will receive a color-coded placement card and be directed to the staging area for their respective college.

Graduates must be in full academic attire (gown, hood, and cap with tassel) upon arrival. Caps and gowns may be picked up at the Grad Finale or bookstore prior to commencement weekend. They will not be available at the arena.

Graduates will line up at 12 p.m. on the lower event level of the arena.

The ceremony will begin at 1 p.m. and will last approximately 3 hours. Graduates are expected to remain for the entire ceremony.

At the conclusion of the ceremony, graduates will exit the arena through Gate D to the West Gate plaza area.

In the event of inclement weather, graduates will exit Gate D to the concourse level of the arena.

The arena is a smoke-free facility. Smoking is allowed only in designated outdoor areas. Alcoholic beverages are prohibited in the arena and adjacent parking lots.

The use of air horns, inflatables, and confetti items are strictly prohibited.

The dean of each college will announce the names of graduates in alphabetical order by degree.

Graduates must be in proper order according to their color-coded placement card.

Ushers will direct graduates to the stage.

Graduates will enter the stage on the right side and exit on the left after receiving their diploma folder from the President.

As graduates exit the stage, they will be directed to the registrar’s table on the side of the stage to pick up their diploma and then return back to their seats.

GradImages will photograph graduates receiving their diplomas. Pre-register with GradImages and receive 20% off your photos. GradImages will mail each graduate a proof within a week of commencement. New Security Policy Effective January 1, 2019:

Bags that are clear and measure 12”x12”x6” or less or one-gallon plastic freezer bags (Ziplock or similar) will be permitted inside the venue with personal belongings such as medical items, coats, cameras, binoculars, child care items and for select events including Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins game, IPads and other mobile tablets. One bag may be brought in per person.

General care items such as glasses and wallets and  should stay in a guest’s pocket when passing through the metal detectors (subject to change). Keys and cell phones will need to be placed in a bin when passing through the metal detectors.

Marywood’s bookstore will have a stand on the concourse level of the arena for any last-minute items that graduates and their guests may need. Flowers will be available for purchase at the arena on graduation day.

Suite Rentals at Mohegan Sun Arena at Casey Plaza are available for rent for this event.

Mohegan Sun Arena has two options for suite rentals, standard suites which accommodate up to 17 guests and our party suite, which accommodate up to 43 guests.
